We encourage all of our Princesses to learn more about themselves, their boundaries and possibly their limitations at our events. If you feel that an obstacle is a little too much for you, you are welcome to walk through and continue your run.
We don’t focus on time tracking or competition. Once you are on the course, you are free to complete the run as fast or as slowly as you like. There is no pressure to run, you can walk the entire course at your leisure.
While we are strictly a “for-profit” business, we care greatly about outreach causes, especially those that focus on women’s health. This is why we have partnered with the Pink Drive which promotes regular mammogram checks to encourage early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
Yes! And no.
As this is a race strictly for women, we only allow GIRL Princesses to participate as well. Little Princesses are welcome to join in the fun AND we have a special price ticket for them!
Due to the nature of the event, we do have some restrictions as well.
Minimum age for entry is 6 years old.
13 years and younger - qualify for child ticket price. Can run at their parents discretion. They require a fully paid and registered adult (over the age of 18) to accompany them and an additional indemnity must be signed at registration on the day.
14+ years - Full price ticket. Do not require an accompanying adult but an indemnity form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian at registration on the day.
Please note – no indemnity, no run, no exceptions.
However, we cannot guarantee you a spot in a specific batch time. We always recommend that you book in advance but, in the unlikely event that we aren’t sold out, there may be a few open spots available.
To make your day as hassle free as possible, we encourage our Princesses to bring the following items as well
- a change of clothes,
- a towel to dry yourself off,
- sunscreen,
- black bags for your dirty clothes and shoes (trust us, the mud gets everywhere!)
We are always looking for fun loving Princesses to help us create a celebratory atmosphere at our events. Please click on the VOLUNTEERS link on the website for more information or email info@muddyprincess.co.za
And it’s free! We choose our venues very carefully to ensure that there is enough space to accommodate all our Princesses and their families, spectators and supporters.
We always encourage our Princesses to travel with their entourage so husbands, kids, grannies and cheering squads are always welcome. We have a Village where they can cheer you at the Start and celebrate you at the Finish Line. They can explore the food and drinks stalls, or sit and relax while they wait for you to have your fun in the mud.
We try our very best to have a Kids Entertainment Zone at the Village but cannot guarantee this as we are working with different venues for each event. Please check the Participants Information (released a few days before the run date) for your specific event to see exactly what facilities will be available.
Please note – We do not have a designated spectator zone along the course. While it may be fun to have your hubby watch you wade through the mud or climb the tyre tower, we ask that you respect the privacy of all our Princesses and that all spectators remain in the Village and not venture onto the course.
Due to the set up of the different venues, we cannot guarantee that the course will remain private and we do not police spectators along the route.
Picnic blankets and camping chairs are permitted but no gazebos, umbrellas or portable braais are allowed.
We have partnered with Mitchum to bring you an enhanced shower experience!
R50 per person
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing drought, we cannot offer a full shower service in Stellenbosch but we will have an area where you can rinse off the majority of the mud and change into your clean, dry clothes.
We still suggest that you bring extra towels and black bags with to store your dirty clothes and shoes.
Your confirmation email is your ticket. We do not require you to bring any paperwork with you (let’s save those trees!) your name and surname, along with your ID, at registration will be enough.
Go to the event page and click register, fill in your details and once you get to checkout, you will see three options for payment – credit card, EFT or Coupon code. Select coupon code, fill in the code and your discount will be activated and automatically deducted from the total. Do not checkout without entering your promo code or we will, unfortunately, not be able to help you.
If you’re having problems entering your promo code, please email info@muddyprincess.co.za
If your batch is full, but some of your team members have not signed up yet, you can switch your batch time to an open batch that can accommodate all of your team members.
See below on how to change your batch time.
- Full names of all registrants who require time change
- Team name (if applicable)
- Preferred new batch time (Please send a minimum of two options)
